Still hibernating?

Isn’t it time to wake up? Enjoy the growing amount of sunlight?

Time to shake off all those negative thoughts about a never-ending pandemic, about not being able to see our loved ones in person?

Of course, keeping in mind, the many victims, who will be dearly missed and the fragility of our new won freedoms.

I personally have trouble to get things going again. After another Covid-Christmas my New Year resolutions were lacking luster and ambition and soon I had to realize that there is not enough wind under my wings to take flight…On top I found myself picking on me, my lacking discipline and perseverance, craving for not-so-healthy food, etc.

The consistent insecurity and the ongoing inability to make reliable plans left me kind of dull and worn out. I only can imagine how exhausted the many parents who were homeschooling their kids for such a long time, and our health-care workers might feel.

And now we all watch in deep sorrow and horror what is going on in Ukraine. Everyday people all of a sudden brutally under the siege of war. This shows us once again how fragile and brutal live can be.

The question is how we react to it. Are we digging ourselves in, happy not to be in the focus of some crazy despot? Or are we getting the wake-up call, taking responsibility, such as supporting the sanctions, even if they come with a price tag of a higher cost of living, or donating for exhausted mothers and children arriving in the many refugee camps.

We, our actions, have an impact! Not only on others but on ourselves. Being able to help others in any way is a huge driving force in life.

But are we also taking enough care of ourselves, to stay strong and agile for our significant others, our friends, and our families or whatever life may throw upon us?

You must take care of yourself!!!

Most of us are always giving, depleting our energy reserves, emotional capacities, and repair mechanisms. We have to master a multitude of roles, be it in our working life, or in our private environment. On the long run this all might lead to a severe drain of life force – resulting in fatigue, depression, or chronic illness.

So, accept my deepest plea for making time for yourself, enjoying a walk in the woods, or exploring a new form of exercise, meditate or commit to a nutritional reset, even if it is just for ten days…

Maybe you are in for a change, and it is time for some tender loving care for yourself.
